GB0PLB puts lifeboats on the air

SOS Radio Week is an annual two weekend event organised by the Lifeboat Amateur Radio Society at the end of January to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). For the last two years the Porthmadog & District Amateur Radio Society has taken part - operating from Criccieth Lifeboat Station one weekend and Porthmadog Yacht Club on the other. In 2012 we took the bold move to try and operate from two lifeboat stations and we are very grateful to both the crews and managers of Pwllheli (21/22 January) and Crccieth (28/29 January) lifeboat stations for their kind hospitality.

More details will follow, but our sponsored operations are expected to raise £250 which we hope to present to the two crews at the Society's April monthly meeting.
