PADARS Covid-19 Update

Due to the restrictions put in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19, we are currently unable to have our regular meeting at the Madoc Yacht Club in Porthmadog. Even though we are unable to meet in person, the club is still very active, (possibly more active than usual!). We are doing a few things to keep the club active, here they are:-

Weekly 2m Net

We are currently having weekly nets on 145.400Mhz at 19:30BST every Thursday, but we soon hope to be able to do this on GB3DW to improve the coverage and allow more members to be able to hear each other. The net started in 2019 and it was successful with quite a high turn-out. But now, it is more popular than ever we have a great turn-out and people are having the opportunity to have a chat on the air while the country is in lockdown.

Weekly Zoom Meeting

On Sunday the 10th of May, we had our first club Zoom meeting. It has been agreed that we will hold these meetings every Sunday at 19:30BST every week for around 40 minutes. The link to join the Zoom meetings are been sent from our chairman via E-Mail to all club members. If you wish to join you can contact the club via E-Mail (Using the website's contact page, or by finding E-Mail addresses on the committee page). Otherwise, you can visit our Facebook page.

Want to get involved?

If you are interested in getting involved with what we are doing, you can. If you live in the area, you can join our net. If you don't, you may be able to join the net using our Zello link which is managed once a week just for the net. For this, you must be approved to the PADARS group. The easiest way to do this is by telling someone by E-Mail or Facebook that you are have tried joining and what your callsign is. If you want to join the Zoom meeting, the best thing to do is contact our Chairman, Robert Hughes Burton (MW0RHD).
